According to historian and author Paul Johnson there are five great lessons to learn from the incredible life of Sir Winston Churchill.

1. Aim high.
2. Work hard.
3. Never let mistakes, disasters, criticism or failure to get you down.
4. Avoid meanness, blameshifting, and revenge.
5. Live joyfully.

Remembering Memorial Day

This weekend marks the 100th celebration of Memorial Day—the day set aside to honor not only those who fought but especially the memory of those who died for our country. A man has no greater love than he lay down his life for his friends. Countless thousands of our fellow Americans have done just that. They have willingly gone into the face of death to protect our families, our land, and our liberty—and they have paid the ultimate price.

This weekend, let’s take a moment to give thanks for them and to honor their memory by honoring those who continue to serve in the armed forces today. Our families, our land, and our liberty are in no less danger today than when our nation was first born.

God Bless America!
